Every year when we were kids my parents would make us get dressed up and pose for an annual family photo. With 5 kids it was always a bit chaotic and at least 1 entire roll of film was required to get just one good shot. Dad would set up the tripod, put the camera on the timer and do the hilarious dash between camera and family to put himself in the photo. As a result, we have a family photo from every year, gradually dwindling in the number of kids as we grew up moved out of home. It is a treasure! My Mum has carefully put each photo into an album and it's a visual history of our family, and also the appalling fashion of the 80's and 90's!!

I want the same thing for my kids, this visual collection of the of our journey as a family is precious to me. I want to be able to look back and see who had the gap-tooth smile that year, how the fashion for hair changed over time and most importantly to note how we changed, but also stayed the same.

If you want to record your family in a way that is meaningful to you, make the time to do a family photo. Set up the timer on your camera phone and get in the picture yourself! All too often someone is missing because they are taking the photo, your kids will thank you in years to come!

And if the thought of that is all too much especially at this time of year, think about booking in for a family photoshoot and let me do the hard part for you!
