How many times have you tried to get photos with your kids and they just won't cooperate? Someone is being silly and "ruining" the photo? Toddlers run away, older kids don't want to be there, it's just all too hard!!!!

Well, let me give you a few tips that might help you get a great shot of your (un-cooperative) children! ;-)

First, make it fun! As soon as you say "stand there and smile while I take a photo of you" they will do the exact opposite. Let them play, catch the moments in between, laughing faces will often relax into a genuine smile and that is the moment to click the camera.

Second, always be ready! Be the observer and take lots of photos. sometimes when you look back at them there will be a gem in there you didn't even realise you had.

Third, don't be afraid to be a little bit silly yourself (or a lot! ). This always gets others in the mood and shows them you are not just there to tell them what to do, but rather you will be playful with them.

Lastly, sometimes a quiet, candid shot is just as beautiful. Take photos when they are not watching and it will reveal a different side of them.

I hope you find some of these tips useful and if you want to learn more about getting ready for a photoshoot with me you can download my FREE shoot for success guide here.
