Lunchtime! A family get-together | Arabella Futcher Photography

It was such a pleasure to be present and document this family get-together. This year, with all the restrictions and uncertainty about when we could see and be with our loved ones, it has brought into sharper focus what is important. For this family, it was being together and making the most of the opportunity to enjoy each others company.

Some family portraits and some candid more casual shots made this shoot more of a story. Documenting the lunch as it unfolded and the family members as they relaxed into their natural ways of interacting was beautiful to watch. In particular, Emma wanted some photos with her Mum and this is what she had to say when she saw the portrait of the two of them together:

"Oh WOW!!! That's the nicest photo we've got of Mum for decades... Thank you... I'm crying!!"

The power of a photograph is immense, capturing memories, documenting love and defining a moment t in time is what I love to do.
